About us

Safety education that treats you like a responder, not a spectator

First Aid Responder provides first aid, CPR and safety training across the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario — for workplaces meeting Ontario’s requirements, students meeting program requirements, and families who simply want to be ready.

We started First Aid Responder around a simple observation: most people leave a first aid course having watched more than they’ve practised. A certificate matters — employers and colleges require it — but the point of the certificate is the skill behind it.

So our courses are built backwards from the moment that matters: someone collapses, a child is choking, a coworker is bleeding badly. What would you actually do? That’s what we train — with blended formats that move theory online so classroom time goes to hands-on practice, and with instructors who coach rather than lecture.

Today we run public courses in 13 communities across York Region, Durham Region and Toronto, deliver on-site training for workplaces of every size, and teach youth programs that give kids real confidence — not cartoon safety tips.

What we believe about training

Hands-on, not hands-off

First aid is a physical skill. Our practical sessions are built around manikins, AED trainers and realistic scenarios — you practise until the response is yours, not until the clock runs out.

Plain language, real answers

Regulations are confusing enough. We explain Ontario’s requirements in words people actually use, and we’ll tell you honestly which course fits your situation — even when that’s the shorter one.

Current with Ontario’s standards

Ontario modernized workplace first aid in 2026 under the WSIB’s updated First Aid Program, aligned to CSA Z1210:24. Our curriculum reflects the current Basic and Intermediate programs — not last decade’s.

Training that comes to you

Workplaces shouldn’t have to shuttle a shift across the city. We deliver on-site group training across the GTA, on schedules built around your operation.

Workplace first aid training delivered using a WSIB-recognized curriculum through our authorized training-provider relationship (curriculum provider: Emergmart).
