Course overview

Intermediate First Aid + CPR/AED covers everything in the Basic program, then goes further: detailed patient assessment, injury management, musculoskeletal injuries, head, neck and spinal considerations, burns, shock, environmental and medical emergencies, advanced bandaging, and team-based workplace response scenarios.

It is the certification level most employers, colleges and placement programs ask for — but always confirm your specific requirement before booking.

Certificate of Completion

Participants receive a First Aid Responder Certificate of Completion. This is our own youth program — it is not a workplace first aid certification and is not affiliated with any other national training agency’s babysitting program.

How old do you have to be to babysit in Ontario?

There’s no single legislated minimum babysitting age — readiness depends on maturity, the children’s ages and the situation. Most families look for sitters who are at least 11–12 and trained; this course is designed for approximately ages 11–15.

No. It’s First Aid Responder’s own program, with original lessons and materials covering the full range of skills a new sitter needs.

Yes — introductory first aid with child/infant choking awareness, bleeding and burn response, plus when and how to call 911.
